Have you ever found yourself in a relationship where you think that you are trapped in a cage and there is no way out of it? No matter what you do and what you say, the situation does not change. Probably you are the only one left in that relationship or there is no love left in that relationship. Relationships are complicated, love is complex, and people are unstable. This is no news for anyone who has ever had a go at getting romantically involved with someone yet one fails to act upon it when it is needed the most.
Apogee
The best way to cope up with a toxic relationship is getting in touch with someone who understands you such as family, friends or a therapist. Note that there are people who will listen to you and make you feel that they understand. But, they do not, they might even hold you responsible for this and the situation becomes even worse as now you think that you tried sharing your feelings with someone you trusted but the very same person has let you down. Then, you start building walls around yourself and try to lock yourself up in the darkest room you know. Not going out to seek help or not letting anyone in to help is worse than the toxic relationship itself.
But you must keep on trying until you find that one person whom you can rely on and have that bond over which you can discuss your problem with ease and without being judged. In situations like these, you might not be able to gather the courage to stand up for yourself but if you know that someone else is standing by your side no matter what happens then it can get a lot easier for you.

So, to anyone, male or female, who may feel stuck in a toxic relationship or even friendship for similar reasons, know that it is okay to cut ties with those who are not good for your mental health. You should always be your main priority; I promise it’s not selfish to take care of you first before anyone else. Take that step and move on before it’s too late. Such a decision can be hard but taking a positive step to free yourself is certainly worth it. You will need time to heal the hurt, but over time you will feel like yourself again.
